Bosna Tournament 2009 – Round Four

Six-player double round robin, Pavel Eljanov leading

The 2009 Bosna Chess Tournament opened on 8th May in Sarajevo and four rounds have already been played. Ukrainian Grandmaster Pavel Eljanov is dominant thus far, having collected 3.5 points, a full point ahead of Borki Predojević. Predojević is holding one plus, after a fine win against the top-seeded Sergei Movsesian.

Six-player double round robin is nowadays a very popular format, employed by some of the strongest tournaments like Mtel Masters and Nanjing. However, perhaps some sort of anti-draw rules should be in force with such a narrow field where rounds consist of only three games.
