Lienz Open and Belišće International

Austrian tournament concludes tomorrow, Croatian launches on the 19th

The 2009 Lienz Open, organized by the Schachklub Volksbank Lienz, is taking place on 7-14th February in Lienz, Austria. The tournament format is 9 rounds with swiss pairing and the time control is 120 min/40 moves plus 60 min to finish the game. The hosts are providing a number of additional activities: excursion to Weißensee, chairlift to the Moosalm, excursion to the museum “Stadt Aguntum” (exhibition of Roman excavations/archaeological findings), excursion to the National Park “Hohe Tauern” and Volkshaus Lienz evening. The last round is being played on early Saturday.

The 16th International Open Tournament “Belišće 2009″ is set to take place on 19-22nd February in Hotel Termia in Bizovac, Croatia. Seven rounds of the swiss system will be played over the course of four days, with classical time control 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment for every move. The tournament will be rated with FIDE.
