The 4th International Chess Tournament A.D. San Juan is taking place from 24th July to 1st August at the Hotel “Iruña Park” in Pamplona, Spain.

The round robin with 10 players is the main event, and two rounds have already been played. Open tournament with 22 Grandmasters is starting Monday.

Top seed Alexander Morozevich, Anand’s trainer Radoslaw Wojtaszek, Sergey Fedorchuk and Laurent Fressinet are joint leaders with 1.5 points each. Local GM Lopez Martinez, who was “unfortunate” to face the two top rated players with black pieces, is last with two zeros.
