Top 10 Chinese players competed in the round robin event

The 2nd Danzhou GM Chess Tournament was held in Danzhou, Hainan, China on 14th – 24th May 2011. Top 10 Chinese players competed in the round robin event. Draw offer was not allowed before 30th move. Last year the tournament was won by GM Bu Xiangzhi.

The 17-years old Yu Yangyi continued the good run from the Asian Championship and convincingly won the tournament, leaving the opposition as far as point and a half behind.

Women’s World Champion Hou Yifan finished last with only 2.0 points. The newly crowned China Champion Ding Liren did not perform well and landed next to last with 3.0 points.
