2008 SPICE Cup – Round One

September 19-28 in Lubbock, USA

2008 SPICE Cup is the highest rated 10-player international round-robin chess tournament in U.S. History. The ten players – all grandmasters – confirmed for the event boast an average rating of 2605 according to World Chess Federation (FIDE) ratings. “We have secured a very prestigious roster of players from around the globe to compete in this tournament,” said SPICE Director Susan Polgar.

The playing venue is Texas Tech University Student Union Building, 2500 Broadway, Lubbock, TX 79409. MonRoi is hosting the official website and live games, while live video feed is available at http://media.english.ttu.edu/chess.
