Ulaanbaatar Women FIDE Grand Prix – Round One

Koneru, Zhao Xue and Chiburdanidze starting with victories

The 5th Women FIDE Grand Prix chess tournament is taking place 30th July to 11th August in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The opening ceremony was held on the Sukhbaatar Square, in the main government district, which was a privilege that no other sport event enjoyed before. One day earlier, a foundation for the FIDE Chess Academy was laid on the outskirts of Mongolia capitol.
